Does “private” mean the car as well as the boat?

Both. Some operators call a tour private when only the boat is, and you still share the four-hour round trip by road with strangers. Here the 4x4 and the boat are yours for the day.

Can we choose which islands to visit?

Yes, within reason. Tell us what you’re after — the calmest water, the best snorkeling, somewhere quiet for photos — and the guide builds the day around it. Weather, sea state and how far each option sits from Carti still set the outer limits, and your captain has the final say on safety.

Is the price per person or per group?

Per group. Whether you’re two or a full group up to the maximum, the rate for the tour itself doesn’t move. We’ll confirm the current figure and the maximum group size when you write to us.

Can we leave later than the usual 5:00 AM?

The schedule is flexible, which is one of the main reasons people book this tour rather than a shared one. Tell us the departure you’d like and we’ll tell you honestly what it costs you in island time, since the drive to Carti is the same length whatever time you leave.

Can you help with a proposal, a birthday or an anniversary?

Yes — say so when you book. Knowing in advance means the guide and captain can plan around the moment rather than being surprised by it, which is the difference between it working and it nearly working.

Is the community tax included?

No. The Guna Yala entry tax is paid separately in cash, per person, exactly as on our shared tours. There are no ATMs in the comarca, so bring it with you.
