Cabaña Privada Deluxe
A step up in comfort, still private, still beachfront
Same private stretch of sand as our Classic cabin, better night’s sleep. This is the middle of the range and the most common choice for travellers marking an occasion who don’t want the whole trip to hinge on one splurge.
What the upgrade actually buys
Comfort and finish, and nothing else. The Deluxe cabin is a better-built, better-furnished version of the same private beachfront idea — a more comfortable bed and a space that feels looked after rather than merely functional. Your day, your meals, your guide and the island tour are identical to every other cabin category here.
That’s a narrower difference than the word “deluxe” suggests, and we’d rather say so than let you discover it on arrival.
Deluxe here isn’t resort deluxe
There is no grid electricity on these islands and no air conditioning in any cabin category. Water is limited, bathroom facilities are simple, and the nearest shop is a boat ride away. What “deluxe” means in Guna Yala is a better version of a rustic thing — and travellers who arrive expecting that leave delighted, while travellers expecting a hotel room do not.
What’s included
- ✅ Round-trip 4x4 transport from Panama City and boat transfers
- ✅ Your private Deluxe cabin
- ✅ Breakfast, lunch and dinner
- ✅ A tour to 2 additional islands plus the Natural Pool
- ✅ A local Guna guide
- ⛔ Alcoholic drinks, snacks, snorkel gear, towels and soap
- ⛔ Guna Yala community tax (paid separately, in cash)
Where it sits in the range
Above the Classic, which is the same private cabin without the finish. Below the Overwater cabin, which isn’t more comfortable so much as somewhere else entirely — built out over the sea rather than on the sand.

Frequently asked questions
Is it air conditioned?
No, and neither is any other cabin on these islands. Nights are cooled by sea breeze through an open structure, which is a large part of why people sleep well here despite the heat of the day.
Is it worth the difference over the Classic?
If the point of the trip is the islands and you’ll be outside all day, honestly the Classic is enough. If you’re marking an anniversary, a honeymoon or a first trip together and want the room to feel like part of the occasion, the Deluxe earns it.
Can we add anything on a longer stay?
Yes — on stays of 2 nights or more there’s a free day in the middle, and a 3-island add-on tour is the natural way to spend it rather than repeating the standard island tour.
How far ahead do we need to book?
A minimum of 3 days in advance to confirm the cabin, with a maximum of 3 nights per stay. In dry season, from December to April, the Deluxe cabins go earlier than that, so give yourself margin.
Which meals are included?
Breakfast, lunch and dinner, every day of the stay, prepared by the Guna family hosting you. Alcohol and snacks aren’t included and there’s nowhere on the island to buy much, so bring what you want to drink.
Is late check-out available?
Yes, for a small per-person fee, and it turns your last morning from a rushed departure into a few more hours on the beach.
